• Kala 2020 postponement statement

    Dear Kala family, first of all we hope you and your loved ones are keeping safe and well during these strange times we are living in.

    Thank you for your patience while we were making the necessary arrangements to be able to share this update with you.

    After careful consideration, we have decided to reschedule Kala to ensure we all can enjoy a magical week in the Riviera with safety and peace of mind. Kala will now take place from 9th to 16th of September 2020. The weather in September is very similar to June, with temperatures averaging 27 degrees. Seems like the world is taking a break for a couple of months anyway, so Kala will still be our highly awaited summer holiday.

    We have managed to secure the majority of the artists to be moved to the new dates. We are working on the final few to make sure that the new dates work with their other commitments but we are confident we will be able to deliver another year of outstanding music by the beach.

    With this in mind, we are extending the final balance date to 12th June 2020. We totally understand some have pressing concerns at this time and we want to relieve the financial pressure from this as much as we can.

    Those of you who have already booked flights should be able to reschedule your flights to the new date. We are in daily contact with the airlines and they are being as accommodating as possible at this time. We have collated information from all the airlines that fly to Corfu and Tirana on our website to make this change as smooth as possible for you, and will be constantly updating it as they update their policies.

    We really hope you can attend in September. As a thank you for staying with us, we will add 40€ credit to your wristband so you can have a few drinks on us and celebrate the good part of 2020 that is yet to come.

    We understand that not everyone will be able to attend the new date in September, in which case you will be able to transfer your booking to the 2021 edition of Kala, which will be held at the usual time of the year, along with the complimentary 40€ drinks credit.

    If none of these options are suitable for you, please let us know on the form linked below. However, we want to be fully transparent with you. It’s not financially possible for us to offer an immediate refund. Most customers haven’t paid their full balance yet, and we have already paid a lot of funds out to suppliers and airlines. While they can offer a delay, they are unable to offer an immediate refund. We appreciate that some of you are also facing important challenges and we will do our best to help those who need it, but we’d ask for your patience as the timing and format of refunds will be dictated by the airlines and suppliers who are currently holding the balance. It’s time to look out for each other and ensure we can keep growing our community and enjoying our annual trip to the Riviera for years to come.

    To continue to maintain the high quality experience and low prices that our customers expect, we need as many of you as possible to join us in Albania this September. If you are able to, we ask that you stick with us. By doing so, you will also support the hundreds of employees, freelancers, suppliers and local businesses that depend on Kala.

    You can let us know your choice via the form linked below. Please note that all the passengers in the booking need to select the same option collectively, but only the lead passenger can register the group choice on the form.

    We will be as flexible as we can to help group decisions. For example, if one member of your group can't attend the new date, but the rest want to enjoy the holiday in September, we will offer free name changes and allow the group time to find new partners for the trip.

    Speak to your group and then ask the lead passenger to fill the form linked below to let us know your choice. Note we ask for only one form submission per group. You will need your booking ID for this, which you can find on your confirmation email.

    Ensure that you have the full consent of the group before making your decision, it’s vital that everyone is aware of decisions made.

    Take care of yourself and follow the advice of health agencies. We all must do our part to get through this and return to our normal lives. We are confident we can deliver an outstanding third edition of Kala this year and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you back to our little slice of paradise on the Albanian Riviera this September!

  • What are my options?
    • Attend the rescheduled edition of Kala 2020 in September and receive 40€ in drinks credit
    • Attend the 2021 edition of Kala, which will be held at the usual time of the year, and receive 40€ in drinks credit
    • If you are not able to attend the new dates, let us know in the form and we will do everything we can to accommodate all requests
  • Is there a deadline to decide?

    We ask that you submit your choice by April 15th. You can do so by filling the form linked above.

  • What is the new final balance date?

    We are extending the final balance date to 12th June 2020. We totally understand some of you have pressing concerns at this time and we want to relieve the financial pressure as much as we can.

    If you have already paid your balance, this means the cancellation deadline is also extended.

  • What happens if Kala gets cancelled after this?

    We understand there is still potential for circumstances to change further down the line and we will continue to monitor and make assessments as best we possibly can with all the relevant authorities. We have chosen September as it is when we currently feel confident about running a safe trip.

    The safety of our guests, crew, artists and the residents of Dhërmi is our number one priority. We will be reassessing the global situation every few weeks going forward and will keep all our guests up to date. If by the beginning of June we do not feel that we can ensure a safe event for our guests, Kala 2020 will be cancelled and guests will receive the choice to either move their trip to 2021 or be given a full refund minus fees. This will be done before the final balance date to ensure that guests do not have to pay any more money before this decision is made.

    The global situation has changed dramatically over the past month and there is every chance that it could change for the better over the next two months. We hope that this happens and that everyone can have the Kala experience they were looking forward to - and that everyone can have a holiday that will be much needed and much deserved after being locked in for so long.

  • Can I change my flights to September?

    Yes, you should be able to change the date on your flights. Most airlines are waiving date change fees. You will only be liable for the difference in price between the two flights, but at the moment flight prices for September are cheaper than June.

    • If you booked your flights through us, you will be offered a similar set of flights to those originally booked.
    • If you booked your flights separately, you need to arrange this directly with the airline. Most airlines are being flexible with changes.
